Good to know about shows in Brittany

A network of venues covers the whole region. The scènes nationales, state-supported performing arts centres, and the theatres of the larger towns host new productions and touring companies, while the arts centres and municipal venues of smaller towns put on a full season close to home. Brittany is also home to many locally based companies, in theatre as well as circus and street arts, and a lively amateur theatre scene performs in village halls, particularly in winter.

The indoor season generally runs from autumn to spring, with the programme presented at the start of the season in September. In summer, performances move outdoors: street arts, circus under canvas and open-air theatre bring squares, gardens and festivals to life.

Book as early as you can for the most popular shows, through the venue's box office or online. Many venues offer season tickets and concessions, and give a recommended age for children's shows. To find a show near you, the site's search shows them by date around an address or your current location, on a map and in a list.
