Good to know about going out in Lamballe-Armor

Lamballe was built around a mound crowned by its collegiate church, with shopping streets below and squares where the market is still one of the fixtures of the week. The town has long been known for its stud, the legacy of a horse-breeding region, and for its role as the hub of a densely farmed countryside. Since merging with coastal communes, Lamballe-Armor reaches the sea: it now holds both an inland historic centre and open shores on the bay of Saint-Brieuc.

That double nature shows in the calendar: in summer events shift towards the coast, the beaches and the slipways, while for the rest of the year cultural and community life concentrates in the halls of the centre, with concerts, theatre, exhibitions and neighbourhood fêtes. In practice the commune is a large one and the distance between town and coast is a drive rather than a walk, so allow real travel time between the two. The station, on the Rennes to Brest line, also makes it possible to arrive without a car.
